How can pop-ups help me grow my subscribers’ list?

What are pop-ups?

Pop-ups are your way of collecting customers’ and visitors’ email ids. This helps you expand your base. they are graphics or banners that cover a small portion of your website, that help a customer navigate from one place to another. Essentially they provide a shortcut to the site that you think the customer might be interested in.

The tricky part of pop-ups is overdoing it. Certain users might consider pop-ups irritating and annoying. the aim is to avoid invoking that feeling but placing the pop-ups in a timely fashion.

The following are a few types of  pop-ups that could help you grow your subscribers’ list:

  1. Timed pop-ups: These are the pop-ups that disappear with a time frame, like 60 seconds, 15 seconds and so on. the benefit of this is that the user rarely has to close the popup. it will go away on its own. a downfall might be the fact that since it is distracting as there is movement on the screen for brief periods of time, an individual might be annoyed as to having lost their concentration.
  2. clicked pop-ups: These are the pop-ups that have links or pictures in them that send them to another page with relevant information to what they are looking for. The benefit is that navigating through the pages on your website becomes easier. the is hence the most common type of popups used.
  3. Entry pop-ups: These are pop-ups that appear immediately when a customer reaches your website. This could pose a problem as the individual might lose interest if they are unable to view the information. This could also be beneficial, especially when it used in the right manner. Like when giving the customer discounts or specific deals for long time customers and so on.
  4. Scroll pop-ups: Scroll pop-ups are immensely useful. They appear to the visitor only when completely viewing a certain percentage of the page and information, this helps visitors feel more comfortable with viewing the popup as they have already gotten the amount of information that they might have required.
  5. Exit-intent pop-ups: Exit intent pop-ups are the pop-ups that show up when the visitor wants to leave or navigate away from the website. They usually ask for a confirmation from the visitor who is seeking to leave. It helps to ensure that they know they are leaving the site. This provokes them into considering if they really want to exit the site.

When pop-ups are used in a manner that is convenient for your reader it will help you not only grow your subscriber’s list but also help you grow your business and marketing. So worry not and use popups fearlessly.
