Why does an email bounce?

What does it mean when your email bounces?

When you get a notification stating that your email has bounced, this indicates that your email has been rejected and not accepted by the mail server. Bounced emails not only reduce the effectiveness of your email, but you can also be marked as spam if your email address incurs a bounce more than a number of times.

What is a soft bounce?

A soft bounce is when the email is temporarily rejecting. this happens when the email receivers’ inbox is full and they are unable to receive more emails. Soft bounces can also be caused by server outages.

What is a hard bounce?

A hard bounce is when the email sent gets permanently rejected. this happens when the email address you have sent the email to is incorrect. it can also happen when the IP address you’ve sent your email from has been marked as spam by the mail server. this, therefore, is a very dangerous type of a bounced email as it can affect your future sales and projects as well.
